Boris Johnson has been under fire from both sides of the House this morning, as the prime minister defended the government’s handling of the Afghanistan conflict.
Theresa May accused the government of being “entirely dependent” on the United States’ foreign policy choices, whilst Labour’s leader Sir Keir Starmer criticised the PM for having “no sense of the gravity of the situation”.
Parliament has been recalled from its summer recess for one day to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
