Conservative MP, Crispin Blunt, told the government that “there is no good reason for further delay” in legalising Humanist weddings.
Blunt told Westminster Hall that a “possible statutory instrument to enact legal recognition is already drafted”, to help the “many couples reporting difficulties being able to get married”.
The MP for Reigate also pointed to the fact that allowing more legally recognised marriages would be “good for the economy as well as good for families”.
