Leadsom calls for employers to ‘step up’ on kinship care
MP for South Northamptonshire, Andrea Leadsom, urged employers to “step up to the mark” through a “more flexible approach to work”.
Leadsom described her constituent, who “had to take a week of paid holiday to undergo compulsory training and complete all of the administrative arrangements with the local authority” to raise their niece.
The Conservative MP added that flexible working is good from a fiscal and mental health perspective as well as enabling more children to “benefit from the security and love of a family environment”.
