Higher education changes ‘a better deal’ for students and taxpayers

Education minister, Nadhim Zahawi, revealed to the House the government’s planned changed to higher education that will “secure a better deal for the student and for the taxpayer”.

The student loans repayment threshold will be reduced to £25,000, with the period for repayment extended from 30 to 40 years.

The minister said that he was “confident that this will set the sector up for success”.
