MP on recognising Palestine: ‘If not now, then when?’
Labour’s Julie Elliot began the backbench debate on Palestine by asking the government to recognise the state of Palestine “now”.
The MP for Sunderland Central asked the House how Palestinians must feel as we “talk of international law” regarding the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
Elliot spoke of the government’s Palestine policy of “not now” and asked “if not now, then when?”
