Labour ‘deplores’ NHS waiting lists increasing ‘year on year’
Under secretary for health and social care Maria Caulfield came under fire for suggesting that the government is “determined to address the many health disparities that exist across England”, with the shadow ministerAndrew Gwynne telling the House that “the fact is that waiting lists are projected to continue increasing year on year”.
MP for Kingston upon Hull East Karl Turner bemoaned the government talking “a good scrap” while “the record on health inequalities is utterly deplorable”.
Caulfield told the House that the government’s levelling up scheme would see investment in Hul’’s hospitals. However, Andrew Gwynne described the answer as “unbelievable” given the projected data.
