Miller calls on MPs to make parliament more inclusive in International Women’s Day debate
Maria Miller moved the motion for the International Women’s Day debate in which she called on MPs to make the House of Commons “a place everyone aspires to be a part of, including women”.
Miller stated that the House stands with Ukrainian women who have been bombed in a women and children hospital and fled their country “against those who wage war”.
The Conservative MP for Basingstoke told the House that “the best way we can fight dictatorships is through support for democratic capacity”. She told the House that all democracies around the world need better representation of women, “including our own”, calling for women to have an “equal role in policy making and scrutiny”.
