During deputy prime minister’s questions, Labour MP Matt Western asked deputy prime minister Dominic Raab “what first attracted the prime minister to the billionaire Russian oligarchs”, criticising Boris Johnson’s seeming friendships with Kremlin links.
Raab admitted that Johnson is a “very sociable individual”, telling the House that the PM wants the UK to be “open and outward-looking”.
Raab also reminded Western that it was a Conservative party government that had put in place sanctions on multiple individuals, including the murderers of Khashoggi.
