Zahawi aims for ‘world class’ teaching following new white paper
Education under-secretary Nadhim Zahawi set out plans to help UK schools deliver “world class” teaching to improve life outcomes.
Zahawi set the “ambition” of “90% of primary school children to achieve the agreed standard in reading, writing and maths”. Although, he didn’t specify what this standard was.
The minister also committed to investment in teachers, with “500,000 teacher training and development opportunities” promised “by 2024”.
