‘Criminals hiding through cryptocurrencies’ – Serious Fraud Office

Criminals are using cryptocurrencies to hide serious fraud, according to a senior civil servant.

Lisa Osofsky, director of the serious fraud office, says the move of fraud to online cases has created “new threats” and made the department “rethink how we conduct ourselves”.

Osofsky made the comments during a one-off justice committee session on the work of the serious fraud office.
