Cooper accuses home secretary of being ‘out of touch’ 

During home office questions, shadow secretary Yvette Cooper called Priti Patel “out of touch” as she criticised the way that the government had let victims of crime down.

Patel refuted these claims, telling her opposite number that she should back the government’s bill – one that will be debated later today.

Patel want further, telling the House that in 2021, crime was “33% lower than the previous year”.
