PM criticised for failing to influence India to side with West against Putin
Ian Blackford asked an urgent question to the prime minister to update the House of Commons on his recent trip to India. Foreign minister Vicky Ford responded on the prime ministers behalf before being on the receiving end of criticism towards Boris Johnson.
Blackford blasted the prime minister for not following “a clear convention” for prime ministers to update the House following significant visits.
Labour’s Nick Thomas-Symonds accused Johnson of a lack of “ambition” and “ability to effectively use Britain’s diplomatic clout” to influence India to join the West against Vlademir Putin.
