Mary Robinson welcomes the planned ‘one place for whistleblowers’
In a 10 minute rule bill, Conservative MP Mary Robinson welcomed the planned Office for Whistleblowers, which will be the “one place for whistleblowers” to go to for advice and support.
This will update a law from 1998, which was a “watershed moment” at the time as the first EU country to put in place such a law. However, the UK now “lags behind”.
Robinson finished her speech, telling the House that “people should be able to speak up and know what options are available to them”.
