Mark Logan is the Conservative MP for Bolton North East, having first been elected to Parliament in 2019, gaining the seat from Labour with a majority of 378 votes.
The Bolton North East constituency spreads out from the town centre of Bolton to covers the north of the Metropolitan borough of Bolton including the area of Bromley Cross. Held by the Conservatives prior to 1997, and by Labour between 1997 and 2019, the Conservatives won this seat back in 2019. It is now one of the ten most marginal seats in the UK.
Born in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in 1984, Mark Logan graduated from Queen’s University Belfast. He is the Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Ireland and the Irish in Britain. He subsequently earned two master’s degrees, one from the London school of Economics, and one from the University of Oxford.
Before being elected to Parliament, Mark Logan was a diplomat who worked at the British Consulate-General in Shanghai where he was responsible for media and communications. He speaks mandarin, and is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on China.
He formerly worked as the head of communications for the Sanpower Group, and established his own PR consultancy. He is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups, on Jordan, the British Museum, British Muslims, International Students, Media, Tidy Britain, and the Union.
Logan was a supporter of Brexit in the 2016 EU referendum. He is married with one child.
