Nick Fletcher is‌ ‌the Conservative‌ ‌MP‌ ‌for‌ Don Valley,‌ ‌having‌ ‌first‌ ‌been‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ ‌Parliament‌ ‌in 2019‌, gaining the seat from Labour with a majority of 3,630.

The Don Valley constituency‌ ‌is‌ ‌found‌ ‌on the eastern side of of‌ ‌South Yorkshire and‌ ‌covers‌ the towns of Hatfield, Thorne and Conisbrough.  Found to the south of Doncaster, this is a former mining area.  Prior to the 2019 General Election, Don Valley had been held by the Labour Party ever since 1922.  Some 68.5% of the local electorate supported Leave in the 2016 Brexit referendum.  Fletcher defeated the Labour MP Caroline Flint here in 2019, to become the first ever Conservative MP for this seat.

Born‌ ‌in 1972‌, Nick Fletcher is local to Doncaster and was‌ ‌educated‌ ‌at‌ Armthorpe Comprehensive before gaining a HNC in electronic engineering.

Fletcher established his own electrical contracting company called Analogue Electrics in Doncaster‌ in the mid 1990s.  He has has served on the board of the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce.

Nick Fletcher is married with two children.

Fletcher is a practising Christian who has described Christ as his greatest role model. He is a social conservative who is a member of the Parliamentary, Common Sense Group.

He is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Shared Ownership, Skills and Employment, the United Arab Emirates, and Transport across the North.
