Face masks will no longer be mandatory from 19 July onwards, as part of the government’s relaxing of covid restrictions.
Except they will be in certain places; on the London underground, as we learnt earlier today, and in parliament for example.
Though not for everyone.
Because while parliamentary staff will have to wear masks, MPs will not.
A move as confusing as it is baffling.
If members of the ruling class were ever looking to dispel the idea of ‘one rule for them, and another for us’, this isn’t the way to go about it.
