‘The best bloke I ever knew’
Parliament paid an emotional tribute to the late Sir David Amess, following his murder on Friday afternoon.
The former MP for Southend West was killed in a stabbing attack during a constituency surgery. The incident is being treated as an act of terrorism.
Boris Johnson described Sir David as “the nicest, kindest and most gentle individuals ever to grace these benches.”
Close friend Mark Francois told the House that Sir David was “the best bloke I ever knew”.
