Boris Johnson under fire for ‘overpromising’ on Covid booster jabs
Boris Johnson has come under fire in the House of Commons over his approach to tackling the Omicron variant.
The shadow home secretary Wes Streeting says “the prime minister is now famous for overpromising and under-delivering”, in reference to his TV address to the nation last night. The PM inaccurately suggested every adult would “have the chance to get the booster before the new year.”
The health secretary Sajid Javid confirmed the double vaccination exemption would be updated to require a booster dose “once all adults have had a reasonable chance” to get a jab.
