Spelman cleared of wrongdoing

Tory party chairman Caroline Spelman is to be cleared of any wrongdoing over allowances, party insiders have confirmed.
Ms Spelman was being investigated by parliamentary standards commissioner John Lyon over her use of Commons allowances to pay her nanny.
The news will come as a relief to party leader David Cameron who was unable to reshuffle his frontbench team while her fate hung in the balance.
Mr Lyons had originally said he had no intention of investigating Ms Spelman because the case was over seven years old, but the chairman asked him to do so in an effort to clear her name.
There are still rumours Ms Spelman will be moved from her job in any upcoming reshuffle, however, with Jeremy Hunt, shadow culture secretary, the leading candidate.
