Expenses: Every party damaged, new poll suggests
By politics.co.uk staff
The expenses scandal has pushed Labour into one of its lowest levels of support since the 1930s, but the Tories are damaged too.
A YouGov poll for the Sun revealed David Cameron’s party dropped nine points in their lead in the upcoming European elections.
The party nevertheless remains well ahead of Labour.
The Conservatives are on 41 per cent next to Labour’s 22 per cent.
The Liberal Democrats are not far from becoming Britain’s second party, with 19 per cent support.
If repeated at the general election, the poll would translate into a landslide for the Conservatives, who would win a Commons majority of 152.
