Margaret Thatcher is in Chelsea and Westminster hospital today after falling down, and is understood to be badly shaken.
The 83-year-old had to be driven to the hospital by ambulance and had X-rays carried out on her upper arm.
She is thought to have been in Belgravia with some friends when she lost her footing and fell.
One of her aides told the Daily Telegraph: “You know Lady Thatcher. She was busy at home when she fell. In the process she injured her upper arm. She has gone into hospital for tests. We don’t know yet how serious it is.”
Lady Thatcher has suffered a number of health problems over the last few years, including a series of minor strokes which led her to cancel public speaking engagements.
