Tories odds on to take Norwich North

The Conservatives are on track to take Norwich North in the by-election there this month.
Set for July 23rd, bookmakers William Hill have them 1/6 favourites to take the seat, with Labour at 5/1, Greens and Lib Dems both on 16/1 and Ukip at 66/1.
“Despite Labour’s 5000-plus majority, we think the fact that an MP embroiled in the expenses scandal has stood down here will make it very difficult for them to retain the seat,” said William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe.
A Tory win there would make the party’s candidate, Chloe Smith, one of the youngest MPs in parliament.
A local resident, she is a former aide to Bernard Jenkin.
The contest was triggered by Ian Gibson’s decision to stand down immediately after being told by Labour’s star chamber that he was barred from standing at the next election because of his expenses.
