The car of former communities secretary hazel Blears has been attacked while she was campaigning in Manchester.
The Salford MP, who was not in the Citroen Xsara Picasso at the time, told the Manchester Evening News the attack was not the result of a concerted campaign against her.
Instead, it could be blamed on “teenagers with nothing to do on a hot afternoon,” she said.
“This is just the actions of a tiny minority.”
The car was left with a damaged front window and two slashed tyres.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
