Bookie pays out on Tory win

Bookmaker Paddy Power is so convinced the Conservatives will get most seats in the election it is paying out early on bets on the Tories.
The company is stumping up £100,000 three days before a vote is counted, and it projected its decision onto parliament this morning.
The bookmaker shortened odds on a Cameron win from 1/5 to 1/6 after the third leaders’ debate, but it will pay on single bets made before 9pm yesterday.
A spokesman told the Daily Telegraph: “Dave is heading for Downing Street and punters can come and collect their cash.
“If money talks then what we have seen in the last few days tells us the Conservatives are going to win the election.”
“The spokesman added: “The only question remaining is whether they secure enough seats for the all important majority – and the betting is starting to suggest they can.”
Back in 2003, the Irish bookie paid out prematurely on Arsenal winning the premier league. The Gunners, who had a held a 12-point lead lost out to Manchester United.
