General election 2010: Kate Hoey holds Vauxhall

Former Labour minister Kate Hoey has held her seat in Vauxhall.
Ms Hoey retained the south London seat with 21,498 votes, a majority of 10,651 over her Liberal Democrat rival Caroline Pidgeon, who took 10,847 votes.
The result represents a swing of 0.1% to the Liberal Democrats, nowhere near enough to take the seat and reflects the under-performance nationally of the third party and Labour’s better than expected results.
The hold takes the non-Conservative bloc one closer to the 326 needed to guarantee an overall majority, with Labour holding 287 and Liberal Democrats 51 seats, a total of 292.
