Stephen Timms out of hospital

The Labour MP who was stabbed at a constituency surgery has been released from hospital.
Stephen Timms, MP for East Ham, was released from the Royal London Hospital today.
He said: “I’m very pleased to be leaving hospital. I’m extremely grateful to all the doctors and nurses who helped me over the last few days, they’ve done a great job and I’m now well on the mend.
Mr Timms, who was stabbed twice in the abdomen on Friday and underwent an operation, added: “I’m also grateful for the hundreds of messages of support and good wishes from East Ham and further afield.
“The hospital told me I need to take a rest, and that’s what I’m going to do now.”
Roshonara Choudhary, 21, who lives in Mr Timms’ East Ham constituency appeared at Stratford magistrates’ court on Monday accused of attempted murder and was remanded in custody.
