The week in Westminster: May 24th – May 28th
It’s Queen’s Speech time again.
Having now received the full 33-page coalition government policy document we know the overall agenda for the next five years.
Tuesday’s Queen’s Speech will give us some idea of which proposals will be turned into legislation this parliamentary year.
Expect civil liberties, deficit reduction and parliamentary and welfare reform to figure prominently.
Harriet Harman will be tasked with responding to the Queen’s Speech as interim Labour leader.
