Ed Miliband secures more union backing

Ed Miliband’s chances of becoming Labour leader have received another welcome boost after he secured the backing of the second of the country’s three biggest unions.
Unison gave the younger Miliband brother its support today, not long after the GMB union confirmed it was throwing its weight behind him.
Unison’s national political committee gave the shadow energy and climate change secretary its support following a hustings event earlier in July with all five candidates.
Unite, the country’s biggest union, will make its decision next week.
