David Miliband: I’m still not coming back
David Miliband has again refused to serve with his brother Ed, over two years since he lost to him in a leadership contest.
The former foreign secretary insisted he had been right to back away from day-to-day Labour politics in the wake of the election and insisted he would stick to his current path.
"I'm on the frontline not the front bench," he told the Andrew Marr programme this morning.
"The comparison that counts is Ed versus David Cameron, not Ed against me.
"The decision I took was proven right – Ed's given strong leadership.
"I'm refreshing myself. The country needs politics at its best. The problems we face are so serious."
Miliband again failed to attend his brother's Labour leader's speech at the party conference this year and it is understood that the relationship between the two men continues to be difficult.
