Jeremy Clarkson considers standing against Ed Miliband
Jeremy Clarkson is considering standing against Ed Miliband at the next general election, it has emerged.
The outspoken Top Gear presenter told his Twitter followers: "I'm thinking I might stand in the next election as an independent for Doncaster North, which is where I'm from. Thoughts?"
He later added: "I'm out with a friend who says he doesn't know where Doncaster is. That must change."
Clarkson does not still live in the area and is reportedly part of the so-called 'Chipping Norton set' with prime minister David Cameron.
His latest comments are part of a long term spat between the two men.
Miliband previously criticised Clarkson after he said that he would take striking public sector workers "outside and execute them in front of their families".
The Labour leader then described Clarkson's comments as "absolutely disgraceful and disgusting".
He also singled him out for criticism after Clarkson said he would say "good riddance" to Scottish people if they voted for independence.
And last year Miliband accused him of "belittling" people with mental health problems after he referred to people who throw themselves under trains as "Johnny Suicides".
Clarkson quickly responded by questioning Miliband's own mental health.
"I have read what Miliband said. And seriously, I'm not sure he's right in the head," he tweeted.
Miliband has yet to respond to Clarkson's latest comments.
