Dear Zoo…
Classic children’s story comes to life at ZSL London Zoo this Easter
The Dear Zoo Experience: Saturday 2 – Monday 18 April 2022
ZSL London Zoo is bringing children’s classic Dear Zoo to life this Easter, through a series of roarsome activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the famous book.
Author Rod Campbell’s much-loved tale of a child who writes to the zoo to ask for the pawfect pet has delighted readers for four decades; now children of all ages are invited to become part of the story in The Dear Zoo Experience – exploring which animals are too tall, too big, or too grumpy to join the family.
From Saturday 2 to Monday 18 April, little ones can settle down to enjoy lively readings of the nursery favourite, during daily story-time sessions at the world-famous Zoo.
The book’s animals will leap off the page as visitors embark on a new trail across the Zoo – taking in the real-life species behind the story, including inquisitive monkeys, lofty camels, roaring lions and tall giraffes.
Also new to London Zoo this April is a celebration of Campbell’s latest picture book, Look After Us, which imaginatively introduces little ones to wildlife conservation; families will enter a tranquil underwater-themed world to listen to the new tale, before exploring an interactive exhibit – specially designed for pre-schoolers – showing how ZSL conservationists help protect threatened species in the wild.
Once story-time is over, young animal lovers can spend the rest of the day exploring more than 20,000 animals at London’s zoo, including Humboldt penguins on Penguin Beach and Sumatran tigers in Tiger Territory.
A great value day out, all The Dear Zoo Experience and Look After Us activities are included in the entry price – book your tickets online now at www.zsl.org/london-zoo
