Centre for London response to Mayor’s high pollution alert

Responding to the Mayor of London’s new high pollution alert until Thursday 24 March, Nick Bowes, Chief Executive of Centre for London said:

“While the warmer spring weather has perked up Londoners, the downside is worsening air quality. The Mayor’s warning shows there’s still much more to do to improve the city’s air, and tackle emissions from homes and businesses as well as vehicles. This will need city and national political leaders to take brave but necessary decisions.

But with pollution also drifting from the continent, it’s a reminder that without London working with other cities the problem won’t be solved”
