Anna McMorrin MP accuses government of being ‘asleep at the wheel in delivering a secure and stable future’
During oral questions on COP26, Labour MP Anna McMorrin accused the government of being “asleep at the wheel in delivering a secure and stable future” following a “stark” UN report.
McMorrin asked whether the minister would “go further and act faster to cut emissions”.
COP26 president Alok Sharma told MPs to “judge this government on its record”, a record that includes curing emissions “fastest of any of the G20 or the G7 in century years. The president also cited the UK’s offshore wind sector as “the reason we (the UK) are not reliant on Russian gas”.
