Dinenage calls for government ‘to move the dial on cancer outcomes’
To begin the debate on childhood cancer outcomes, Dame Caroline Dinenage called on the government “to move the dial on cancer outcomes, to drive forward” work on detection, and care for children.
Dinenage dedicated her speech to and told the story of 10 year old Sophie Fairall, who had a “special” bucket list that included raising awareness of the improvements required to look after children like her.
The Conservative MP highlighted that 12 children and young people per day are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. And asked the House of Commons, “how can that be described as rare?”
