Liz Truss updates the Foreign Affairs Select Committee on the Ukraine crisis

Foreign Affairs Select Committee

Event: Formal meeting (oral evidence session): Work of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office

During an oral evidence session with the foreign affairs committee, foreign secretary Liz Truss was quizzed over the UK’s actions in the build up to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Truss suggested that the West had “took its eye off the ball” in terms of international strategy following the Cold War.

Chris Bryant MP quizzed Truss over visas for Ukrainian refugees- something Truss and the Foreign Office’s permanent under-secretary said was a Home Office responsibility.
