More reaction to the spring financial statement, including anger at omission of food security
Following the chancellor Rishi Sunak delivering the spring financial statement, he faced questions from MPs across the House.
A notable question came from SNP MP David Linden, who explained that the fuel levy cut and energy efficiency for homes tax cut will not help his constituents of which “60% don’t have cars and many don’t own their own homes”. Linden asked what Sunak had to say to people “whose children will go to bed hungry tonight”.
Sunak also came under fire over fraud that had taken place during the coronavirus pandemic and for “making it up” with employment statistics.
