In a speech to Westminster Hall, Labour MP, Julie Elliot outlined the key issues in women’s football.
While it is a sport that has seen “incredible growth in the last few years”, Elliot stressed that “misogyny is still present amongst male football supports”.
The MP for Central Sunderland urged the government to conduct “a wholesale review of women’s football” and to “provide a more specific timeframe to publish a full response to the fan-led review”.
