MP tells government: ‘Child exploitation is not inevitable’
MP for Rotherham Sarah Champion highlighted to Westminster Hall the further steps required for the government to tackle “degrading” child sexual exploitation.
Champion referred to an independent inquiry into to child sexual abuse, which has come to the “same conclusions” that various parties have been saying “for years”.
The Labour MP called for changes that were required in police forces, local authorities and the department for education, and urged all MPs to do “everything in their power to make it happen”.
