New charities bill will ‘enable them to continue to make a difference’
A charities bill, which will seek to overcome “complex and bureaucratic charity law”, was read for the third and final time in the Commons.
Nigel Huddleston, the Under-Secretary for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, addressed the house, discussing the way that the bill would “simplify the process by which charities amend governing documents and repurpose”.
Huddleston explained that changes like these would “protect charities and their donors” and “benefit the sector”.
