Sharma: ‘Pandemic has set us back 12 years fighting TB’

Virendra Sharma has warned the fight to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) has been severely set back by the pandemic.

In a Westminster Hall debate on World TB Day 2022, Sharma said: “The Stop TB Partnership suggests that the fight to eradicate TB has been set back for more than 12 years.”

Foreign minister Vicky Ford claimed the government was committed to “investing in services worldwide to prevent, test for, and treat TB.”
