Speaker allows MPs to debate PM ministerial conduct on Thursday

Following the news during recess that Boris Johnson has received a fine for attending parties during lockdown, House of Commons speaker, Sir Lindsey Hoyle has allowed a debate on the prime minister’s conduct to take place on Thursday.

Hoyle explained that it is not for him to “police the ministerial code”, a common misconception.

He told the House that hoped that the statement was “helpful”.
