Steve Baker to the PM: ‘the gig’s up’

During the privilege debate on whether prime minister Boris Johnson should be scrutinised by the privilege committee for his conduct following partygate, the PM faced criticism from more than the opposition. 

Backbencher Steve Baker told the prime minister that the “gig’s up”.

SNP leader Ian Blackford, Father of the House Peter Bottomley and chair of the privilege committee Chris Bryant also spoke. Bryant called on MPs to “burnish, not tarnish the reputation” of the House of Commons.
