Wallis calls for 1990 cyber security law update to ‘reflect monumental changes’
Leading a Westminster Hall debate, Conservative MP Dr Jamie Wallis called for an urgent update to cyber security law to “reflect monumental changes” since the Computer Misuse Act of 1990.
Wallis referred to Putin’s invasion of Ukraine as an event that places “a spotlight on the pressing requirement to strengthen the UK’s cyber security”.
The Conservative MP described the current approach as “woefully naive”, with British cyber security professionals currently “at risk of being taken to court over actionable intelligence”.
