Paul Bristow is the Conservative MP for Peterborough, having first been elected to Parliament in 2019 with a majority of 2,580 over the Labour Party.
Located to the north of Cambridgeshire, Peterborough is a swing seat that has swung regularly between Labour and the Conservatives for much of the last fifty years. The seat accounts for approximately two thirds of the city of Peterborough with the remainder being found in the North West Cambridgeshire constituency. This is the most ethnically diverse seat in Cambridgeshire and Asian voters account for a sixth of the electorate. Held by the Conservatives between 2005 and 2017, the party gained Peterborough back in 2019.
Born in 1979, Bristow was brought up locally. He worked for the former Conservative MP Richard Spring, and also ran his own public affairs consultancy business, PB Consulting. As a lobbyist, he was previously the Chairman of the Association of Professional Political Consultants.
He served as a councillor on the Hammersmith and Fulham council, before being elected to Parliament.
Bristow is married with two children. His wife is a public relations consultant.
He is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Canada, New Zealand and Australia, and Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on the Pitcairn Isles, Business Travel, and Ovarian Cancer. He is also a member of the All Party Groups on Digital Health, and Pharmacy.
Interested in housing policy, he is the Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group in Shared Ownership Ownership.
