Wendy Chamberlain is the Liberal Democrat MP for North East Fife, having first been elected to Parliament in 2019, gaining the seat from the SNP with a majority of 1,316.
The North East Fife constituency is found within the Scottish county of Fife and covers Cupar, Leuchars and the surrounding rural area. Represented in Parliament by the former Liberal Democrat Leader, Sir Menzies Campbell between 1987 and 2015, Fife North East contains both St Andrews University and the famous St Andrew’s golf course.
Wendy Chamberlain was appointed as the Liberal Democrat Chief Whip in September 2020.
Born in 1976, Chamberlain was educated at Edinburgh University. She served as a police officer for Lothian and Borders police between 1999 and 2011. After leaving the police, Wendy worked for the Ministry of Defence helping those who were transferring out of the armed services.
She is married with two children.
Chamberlain is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Groups on Scotch Whisky, Antibiotics, Deliberative Democracy, on Ending the Need for Food Banks, and Golf.
