Jane Hunt is‌ ‌the‌ Conservative MP‌ ‌for‌ Loughborough, having‌ ‌first‌ ‌been‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ ‌Parliament‌ ‌in‌ 2019‌ ‌with‌ ‌a‌ ‌majority‌ ‌of‌ 7,125 over‌ ‌the‌ Labour ‌Party.‌ ‌

Located in the north of Leicestershire, the Loughborough seat is a bell weather marginal seat which has typically been won by the governing party for much of the last fifty years.  Containing the towns of Loughborough, Barrow upon Soar, Shepsed, and Quorn, Loughborough University is found within this constituency.

Before becoming an MP herself, Hunt worked‌ as a parliamentary researcher and caseworker, for her predecessor as Loughborough MP, Nicky Morgan‌.

Hunt previously also worked in a management capacity at the Ministry of Justice.

Hunt served as a Conservative Councillor on Charnwood Borough council for 12 years, ‌before‌ ‌being‌ ‌elected‌ ‌to‌ Westminster. ‌ She also unsuccessfully contested Leicester East, Leicester South, and Nottingham South for the Conservatives in previous Parliamentary elections.

Born‌ ‌in 1966, Hunt was educated at Brunel University, and is married with two children.

Hunt has been a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Basketball, Housing and Planning, District Councils, Internet, Communications and Technology, Social Mobility, Sport, Swimming and Students.
