Rob Roberts was elected as ‌the‌ Conservative MP‌ ‌for‌ Delyn‌ ‌in 2019‌, gaining the seat from Labour with a majority of just 865.

In May 2021 Roberts had the Conservative Party whip removed after a complaints panel (the Independent Expert Panel) found that he had breached Parliament’s sexual misconduct policy.  The panel recommended that he be suspended from the Commons for six weeks.

The Delyn constituency‌ ‌is‌ found in North Wales in the County of Clwyd, and covers the towns of Mold, Flint, Holywell and the surrounding area.  Previously a Labour seat for 27 years, this area previously supported the Conservatives during their earlier landslide years of 1983 and 1987.

Born in 1979, Rob Roberts grew up locally and attended Ysgol Maes Garmon School in Mold.   He then studied at Liverpool John Moores University before working as a financial planner and mortgage advisor.

He is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Anti-Corruption and Responsible Tax, on Insurance and Financial Services, and on Pension Scams.

Rob is openly gay and came out in 2020 on the International Day Against Homophobia.

He is a fluent Welsh speaker.

He is Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Fuel Poverty and Energy Efficiency, and a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Cricket, Hockey, Hospitality and Tourism, Rural Health and Social Care, and Skills and Employment.
