Andrew Stephenson, the minister for High Speed 2 (HS2), says that the cost of scrapping the project would be “chilling”.
Mr Stephenson, who was giving evidence on the progress of HS2 to the transport committee, also said that cancelling the project because of the pandemic, “would send out a terrible message globally”.
