England’s deputy chief medical officer has downplayed suggestions that teachers could get be prioritised for vaccinations in order to re-open schools.
Appearing at the education committee, Dr Jenny Harries says she “cannot see the link between vaccinating staff and the decision to open schools sooner or later”.
Schools and nurseries are currently shut across the UK.
